Catholic Day on the Hill 2012 has been canceled.
We regret that due to a projected closing date of late April we will not be able to have our adult Catholic Day on the Hill this year. All arrangements were made for this to take place on April 28th. Catholic Student Day on the Hill will still take place on March 20th. Schools will be sent information and registration forms. The General Assembly is planning on being finished by that date or in a closing mode. Other arrangements could not be made at this late date for facilities that accommodate the size of our group. We are very disappointed by this. Please continue to follow our legislative reports here on the web site. |
Join us for Catholic Day on the Hill this year as we advocate on issues impacting the dignity and life of the human person. Your fellow Catholics from across the state will come together at our state capitol for an uplifting day of prayer, advocacy and education. This is a great opportunity to share our Catholic viewpoint on important state issues with our elected officials. The Catholic Church proclaims that human life is sacred and that the dignity of the human person is the foundation of a moral vision for society. Our belief in the sanctity of human life and the inherent dignity of the human person is the foundation of all the principles of our social teachings. In keeping with this social teachings our theme is “Human Solidarity: We are all the body of Christ, what effects one, effects all.”
We will be having two separate Days on the Hill this year. April 13th is for adults to attend. April 5th will be for Catholic school students, their teachers, and chaperones to attend. We will be focusing on such issues impacting the dignity and lives of Tennesseans as: abortion, stem cell research, healthcare, immigration, predatory lending, and the death penalty. Please click on registration forms below. On this web site you will also find more information about the Catholic Church’s position on the issues and legislation facing Tennesseans and the materials to help prepare you for Catholic Day on the Hill.
Registration is mandatory to attend. Both registration and the registration fee must be received by the deadline. Please see the appropriate registration form for deadlines. Catholic Schools Day on the Hill fee is $20.00 per student, teacher, or chaperone. Catholic Day on the Hill fee is $30.00 per adult. This fee helps cover the cost of the day including materials and lunch. For more information, contact Kathleen Murphy, tncppc@bellsouth.net or 615-828-4713.
